Susan Armstrong has over 15 years experience working in both the commercial and not-for-profit world in both capacities as a Director and Motion Graphics Artist. Her feature film 'Doormat' won the Grand Jury choice for the BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE AWARD at The South Asian International Film Festival. Her documentary shorts have been featured in the Globe and Mail and CBC. She has received numerous Canada Council/Ontario Arts Council Grants for her documentary work. She is particularly interested in the human story behind larger political, social and cultural changes in Canada and the world.


Maya Bastian is an accomplished investigative journalist specializing in socio-political issues. She has collaborated internationally with various NGOs documenting war crimes and civil rights abuses.  Her short film ‘After the War’ won BEST DOCUMENTARY at the Eyelens Film Festival and she was recognized by both The Architectural Conservancy of Ontario and Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals for her documentary ‘Riding with Rollo’ which address issues of accessibility on the streets of Toronto.  Her latest short film ‘Air Show’ documents refugee reactions to the Canadian Air Show and was featured in The Globe and Mail, Huffington Post and CBC News.
